JKL Web Technologies Joins Phil-a-Frunk to Help Fight Hunger

On Thursday November 30th, JKL Web Technologies will become part of the 4th annual event called Phil-a-Frunk sponsored by the Philadelphia’s area Porsche Club – Riesentöter. Phil-a-Frunk is a charity event where the members of Riesentöter fill their front trunks (frunks) with nonperishable food items and drive from the Capital Grille in King of Prussia, Pa to the Xfinity Live Center in Philadelphia. This 30 mile endeavor is part of the local radio WMMR’s “Camp Out for Hunger" and is done to help fill the food banks of Philabundance which is leading the fight against hunger in the Philadelphia area.

It was only natural for JKL Web Technologies to be involved in Phil-a-Frunk since their managing director, Jeffrey Walton, is also the president of Riesentöter Region Porsche Club of America and the originator of Phil-a-Frunk – “a literal food drive”. He created the concept of the “literal food drive” 4 years ago and his members have since donated over 42,000 pounds of food.

The 2016 caravan of 188 cars stretched for 3 miles and was led by the Valley Forge Volunteer Fire Company as Upper Merion Township Police helped snake their way through the King of Prussia Mall traffic. Last year’s food totals were just shy of 10 tons, 19,903, pounds to be exact..

“This year every employee of JKL will be a part of Phil-a-Frunk,” states Jeffrey Walton, “it doesn’t matter what type of vehicle they drive, it’s for a great cause; friends and family are encouraged to join as well.” With JKL Web Technologies joining the ranks and sponsorship of the Capital Grille, Porsche of Conchohocken, Porsche of the Lehigh Valley, Porsche of the Main Line, and Porsche of Warrington, this year’s 2017 Phil-a-Frunk will be another record breaking year. The caravan will gather at 6pm in the parking lot of the Capital Grille and wheels up as they say is 7:30pm for the 30 mile drive to "Camp out for Hunger" at Xfinity Live.
